The supervising physical therapist is directly responsible for the actions of the physical therapist assistant. The PTA performs physical therapy procedures and related tasks that have been selected and delegated by the supervising physical therapist. PTA may also perform such functions as patient transport, and clinic or equipment preparation and maintenance, as well as assist him or her in providing physical therapy services.
There are four(4) schools which offer physical therapy assistant education. This schools offer Associate of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and Associate Degree of Applied Science. It features culminates in AAS degree and offered in full-time day format.
