Every two years, a licensed physical therapist is required to complete 24 hours and a licensed physical therapist assistant is required to complete 12 hours of continuing education relating to the delivery or provision of physical therapy services. Working under the direction of physical therapists, assistants possess a good deal of responsibility in providing treatment and rehabilitative services to patients who have experienced injury or disabling disease.
Mt Hood Community College is the only school which offer physical therapy assistant education.
