- Lower Back Strengthening
To be able to strengthen the lower back and improve the flexibility of the trunk, abdominal exercises are needed. You can do this by lying on your back with the knees bent. Tighten the abdominal and pull in. This exercise is called abdominal bracing and is very basic. The goal is to stabilize the lumbar spine and improve its strength. Once the patient has mastered abdominal bracing, he or she can move on to doing more challenging arm and leg lifts that will strengthen the core muscles.

Cervical nodding is an exercise that stretches the neck muscles found at the base of the skill. You can stretch it by sitting up straight then nod the head up and down for about ½ inch.
